Tree Leather

Optimizing Shiringa as an alternative materials in the textile sector.

Ongoing research on finding different materials from the latex extracted from an Amazonian tree. At the moment we have developed a Biotextile as an alternative to leather, but planning to expand it as a filler for biocomposed construction materials, extruded as a filament and explore the possibilities of its self-heling properties. The objective is to find a new income for the communities via a circular economy so that there is an economic advantage of preserving the rainforest, instead of using it for illegal mining, illegal logging and making room for narcotrafic plantations.
